Sup, I’m Drew Taylor!
I was first introduced to parkour almost ten years ago, when the original Urban Freeflow was in its prime. After a few years of training, my friends and I started a funny channel on YouTube, for mini-edits and random footage. For some strange reason, people enjoyed watching our videos, and we collectively became known by the channel name – Storror Blog.
We’d always had a love for exploring, all be it just the surrounding towns and cities – but this passion really developed in 2011 when we made our first trip to Malta. This opened the door to a whole world of low budget travel, and turned our passion into somewhat of an obsession to explore and experience as much of the world as we could on our limited budgets!
Travel is a big inspiration for me, in everything I do – design, photography, and training included. I think experiencing foreign culture will almost inevitably lead to an influence in your work. There’s something truly rewarding about being out of your comfort zone, and I feel extremely privileged to have had such a wide variety of incredible experiences at a relatively young age.
It’s definitely humbling to have come full circle, and be writing for the site I was a user of many moons ago! It’s somewhat surreal that my mates and I are considered in anyway an authority on travel or exploration. I don’t feel I’m as well travelled as I want to be, but I guess we’ve covered a fair bit of ground in these four years.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy hearing about our experiences and insights as we cover even more ground in the future. If you’ve got any questions, or want me to write about something specific, drop me a line!
